Overview
We are looking for an experienced and compassionate Residential Director to oversee the daily operations of a group home serving individuals with developmental disabilities. This role ensures the delivery of high-quality, person-centered care while maintaining full compliance with the Ohio Department of Developmental Disabilities (DODD) standards and other regulatory requirements.

As a Residential Director, you will supervise Direct Support Professionals (DSPs), manage household operations, ensure regulatory compliance, and advocate for the overall well-being of residents. Your leadership will directly impact the quality of care and support provided in the home.
What You’ll Be Doing
Resident Care & Advocacy
- Oversee the physical, emotional, and psychological well-being of all residents.
- Coordinate healthcare services, including appointments and medication administration.
- Ensure person-centered planning is implemented and updated regularly.
- Support residents in achieving independence and participating in community life.
Staff Management & Oversight
- Supervise, train, and schedule healthcare professionals to ensure consistent and effective care delivery.
- Conduct performance evaluations and provide continuous coaching and feedback.
- Ensure staff compliance with DODD training and certification requirements.
- Promote a positive team environment and resolve conflicts as needed.
Operational & Regulatory Compliance
- Ensure adherence to all DODD, federal, and state regulations governing residential services.
- Maintain accurate records, incident reports, medical logs, and care documentation.
- Prepare for and support state inspections, internal audits, and quality reviews.
- Manage household budget, inventory, and maintenance needs.
Communication & Coordination
- Serve as the primary point of contact for families, healthcare providers, and agency leadership.
- Collaborate with case managers, medical professionals, and community resources.
- Report critical incidents, behavioral updates, and changes in resident status promptly.
What You Bring to the Role
- Minimum of 2 years experience in a leadership role in a residential or healthcare setting.
- Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities.
- Strong knowledge of Ohio DODD rules and residential care standards.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Bachelor's degree in Human Services, Social Work, or related field preferred.
- Valid Driver’s License and reliable transportation.
- Ability to pass background checks and required health screenings.
